Tesla recalled their EV Model 3s due to a seat belt problem installation that affected approximately 24,000 cars manufactured from 2017 to 2022. These cars are being recalled because they cannot be fixed through OTA meaning through a software update such as a windows issue that can be made without the need for the owner to visit their service center.

Tesla Model 3 seat belt problem
With this new recall, the manufacturer announced that it continues to “proactively recall certain Model 3 vehicles manufactured between 2017–2022 to inspect the second-row left side seat belt assembly and center seat belt anchor to ensure that the components are fastened within specifications.” “
They claim that the Tesla Model 3 problem is not from the beginning of installation but after re-installation at the service center. The technical error was blamed on the installation procedure at the Tesla service center
However, they reassure Tesla owners that they can send their affected cars at any time because this is not an immediate order. No injuries have been reported as a result of this defect.
All Tesla stores have already been notified of the Model3 recall and owners will begin receiving notification emails starting December 20th. In the recall notice, the manufacturer states that if owners have paid to fix this problem in the past, they may be eligible for a refund. source
