Drama-Filled at Jerez MotoGP 2023 as Bagnaia Triumphs Over Binder

The MotoGP race at Jerez Circuit, Spain had some drama this time. Quartararo and Oliveira’s infringement incident caused a “Red Flag” and the race had to start twice. KTM’s speed was impressive, leaving other riders behind after the restart.

On the fourth lap, Francesco Bagnaia began to gain pace, setting a fastest lap of 1:38.237 seconds. By lap 20, Bagnaia was very close to Brad Binder and overtook him in the last corner of the lap to lead the race for the first time.

In the final lap, B. Binder tried to catch up, but F.Bagnaia held his own on the Ducati machine, crossing the finish line to secure his second win of the year.

Bagnaia’s win has now put him in the lead for the 2023 MotoGP overall championship with 87 points, followed by Marco Bezzechi in second place with 65 points. After the victory, he said, “This race was not easy mentally, but I wanted to be in front again. I want this win to motivate my team for the work we do. It’s a good race for #1.” When asked about the penalty imposed on him earlier, Bagnaia said, “I accept it, but we need consistency in the future.”
